Dear List
We have added CentOS to our new mirror.
HTTP: http://mirror.init7.net/centos/ HTTPS: https://mirror.init7.net/centos/ RSYNC: no
Sync schedule: Every 2-4 hrs Bandwidth: 20Gbits Location: Winterthur, Switzerland Sponsor: Init7 (Schweiz) AG Sponsor URL: https://www.init7.net IPv4 address to authorize: 109.202.202.202 IPv6 address to authorize: 2001:1620::1620 Email contact: mirror@init7.net Mirroring AltArch: yes
Hmm, I'm slightly concerned about that AltArch part. It seems that you have placed altarch in http://mirror.init7.net/centos/altarch/ and technically that will also work. Yum does not care about the URL. The concern is that unless you pay close attention with your rsync scripts, you may end up wiping the altarch directory when syncing main architecture content, if you use the --delete option with rsync (like you should). Some months ago I had to disable one mirror for this exact reason, because the constant deleting and re-syncing of content consumed a huge amount of bandwidth at msync.centos.org.
I would recommend keeping the altarch files separate from main architecture files, such as in http://mirror.init7.net/centos-altarch/
Please let me know what you think of this and I'll then add your mirror.
