Well, that's delayed up until the next rsync cycle. Typically what is done is that a time is announced at which ALL the mirror sites can set an "at" job to flip the bit at the same time, to avoid the problem that some mirrors have it, some not.
Right, but unfortunately most of our mirrors arent in sync yet - and if they flip the bit that would cause problems.
Our website also should only show current mirrors - but current isd in the last 24 hours - so I would expect a lot of slower syncing mirrors to drop off 24 hours after release.
Our mirrorlist and isoredirect systems will only give mirrors that are up to date.
