it seems that you have removed the stage2.img files and most of the RPM's from the non-final releases, see below. I.E. the 4.5, 5.2 stage2.img and RPM's files are missing on the majority of mirrors. Can you please confirm this issue? Is this intended?

Yes. 5.2 has been removed from the mirrors to make place for 4.8 - 4.5 shouldn't be on the mirrors anymore anyway ...

correct, only the latest versions is kept for mirrors. We only keep the previous release for a little time when releasing a new version, just in case... 5.2 was there along with 5.3, but we have removed it to make some room for 4.8 (while keeping 4.7 a little while).
All the deprecated versions are moved to vault.centos.org.
