Hello,
I'm currently getting updates for our mirror from msync.centos.org::CentOS but when I wanted to use a DVD-iso, I noticed that O only get files like CentOS-5.3-x86_64-bin-DVD.torrent, but no DVD iso. I checked the archive and found others using msync.centos.org::CentOS-incdvd, but I get
@ERROR: Unknown module 'CentOS-incdvd'
using it. Which master rsync server can I use that includes DVD isos instead of BitTorrent links?
Kind regards Marten
Here is one:

Hello,
well, but this isn't a master? And it contains the file http://linux.mirrors.es.net/centos/SYNC_STAMP.txt which doesn't belong here. But this file contains an interesting note:
"Last updated with msync-dvd.centos.org"
But when I rsync from msync-dvd.centos.org::CentOS I still don't get DVD images. What am I doing wrong?
Kind regards Marten

Your IP isn't listed as allowed. See my last mail.

Not sure who you are talking to ....
We have been a tier 1 mirror with a very large traffic base for over 1 year .....
Our IP(s) was was allowed Tru Huynh tru@centos.org.
That file belongs for us so that we have logs and others can view to see if they wish to pull the files or not.
If something has change on the Centos ACL list with regards to IPv4 and/or IPv6 addresses, Centos team, please notify us asap, we service a very large community.
Thanks, Roberto

At least for IPv4 I can say that nothing has changed - if you are on the acl list you can still pull. ipv6, well, yes, that is a completely different problem :)

Hello,

what do I need to do to be allowed? I have set up our mirror for FTP only at this time but not yet published, because I'm still about to get details on how to configure bandwidth throttling / rate limiting.

See my mail. At the moment you cannot do anything to get allowed, please pull from a tier one mirror (you have been offered two in this thread).
And even if we are adding more msync servers, tier one mirrors without isos at the moment will be the first to get access if they want to. Not having a published mirror or having a mirror with rate limiting / bandwidth throttling probably won't get you on the access list soon. But as said. There are other mirrors offering DVD isos and having rsync, so you can pull those files from there.

Hi there..
Could you please update the listing for Nexicom to include ISO images? We have recently finished rsync that includes images.
Thanks,

It seems there are multiple "msync-dvd.centos.org" systems (not multiple A records, but different A records given out to different hosts changing rather frequently), some of which lack the ACL for DVD access. I've been interested in carrying the DVD ISOs on our public mirror for a while. After reading the previous message in this thread, I thought I'd finally found how to get the DVD ISOs. I verified they were there with rsync msync-dvd.centos.org::CentOS-incdvd/. Then I decided to do a comparison with rsync -van just to make sure nothing unexpected would happen if I changed our rsync script. When I ran the -van, the host we were hitting changed, and suddenly there was no CentOS-incdvd module on the rsync server.

At the moment none of the msyncs, but we have a few new machines to add to the DVD pool. Give us a bit of time for a decision, though.
I can offer you centos.bio.lmu.de for rsyncing the dvd isos.
rsync://centos.bio.lmu.de/CentOS/ -> and then down into the iso dirs ...
Cheers,
Ralph
