The mirror list will redirect users to their closest mirror, so there is no need to operate it as a CDN. The CentOS mirror network does this for you.
There is nothing stopping you however, from running your own CDN for your own usage but it will not benefit the list.

You are right. The mirror list would choose the closest mirror. But another reason to use CDN is to add protection for our servers, if possible. Thanks.
