For some reason we are not getting our mirror in the list of closest / country mirrors, instead we are getting mirrors for Turkey, Greece and Italy..

Well, the list should include centos.arminco.com among others if it's region based, as far as I know it's the only local mirror for Armenia. However Greece and Italy are quite far from here, so I'm not sure why these mirrors also come up... What's the logic of the script at mirrorlist.centos.org? Shouldn't it supply some mirrors to yum so fastestmirror plugin tests these for speed and to pick one?

That is strange. You should get mirrors from am, tr, ge and ru. ge points to tr and eg. eg points to it and gr, so maybe some major redirection happens here.
But: I see your mirror listed for .am, so it should be in the mirrorlist.
From which ip address are you getting that list?

Hmmm, those resolve to Armenia. You should be able to see your mirror, as am should be preferred.

Hmmm. I'm sure I did (the script runs from time to time, so there is no need to restart anything when changing the perl module):

Ugh, it works for CentOS 5 only.. the older versions do not include the centos.arminco.com, although it's a full mirror...

Sorry for reviving old thread, but it the mirrorlist script again is behaving and not listing the Armenian mirror (http://centos.arminco.com/).
