Hello everyone,
The CentOS 5.2 tree will be released within 2-3 days. It's currently syncing to the centos.org machines.
initial released architectures: i386 and x86_64
Size with the dvd.iso: 17G isos 8.1G os
3.8G CentOS-5.2-i386-bin-DVD.iso 4.4G CentOS-5.2-x86_64-bin-DVD.iso
Cheers,
Tru
I know it's probably not possible for this release, but in future would it be possible for mirrors to download the tree early and perform a bitflip/symlink sync at release time? (similar to OpenSuSE and Fedora).

For msync as well as msync-dvd or just msync-dvd?
There is nothing stopping anyone syncing from msync - I have never wanted to serve the DVDs so just sync my mirrors from msync.
Should mirrors be using msync-dvd regardless?

What stops normal

Timestamp on mysync-dvd appears to be over 30 hours behind us-mysnc making many sites at http://mirror-status.centos.org/ seem behind when they are not. (The mirror page says only 66 out of 202). Is this on purpose or is mysync-dvd behind?

It was because we were syncing the 5.2 tree to to them ... so, while syncing the times are not updating until completion.

Not all mirrors can handle > 2gb files, so it is up to the mirror operator where the desire to sync.
Also, we have limited bandwidth, so we have to update the msync-dvd servers manally (as we want to limit who rsyncs these from us).
