Another data point, if interested... I use a BBB with the Debian 8.2
flasher snapshot image from 2015-12-27
(http://elinux.org/Beagleboard:BeagleBoneBlack_Debian#Debian_Image_Testing_Snapshots,
SHA-256 f06a6a4f50).

Ive never had a problem, but I do everything over SSH.
