The nature of the ARM platform is such that you are inevitably to need more than support for one kernel and boot loader. If the device ships with a kernel that works, there is nothing at all stopping you from using that kernel to get the EL6 or EL7 userspace up and running on it. There may be ideological reasons why that is bad, but it is not a practical limitation on the ability to use the hardware. Gordan
