It is necessary to set UTS_MACHINE to aacrh64 to get rid off this bug.

This issue could be addressed by following patch:

I wasn't successful, one of the Makefiles needs some refactoring ("*** mixed implicit and static pattern rules. Stop")

I've build a tar archive containing the kernel image, modules, headers, etc.. You can install it via:

  curl -sSL https://www.dropbox.com/s/96dw3mdzxv43cz9/linux-3.14.79-c2-00001-g2f55842-dirty.tar.xz?dl=0 | sudo tar -C
/ --numeric-owner -xJpvf -

You will find the kernel image file and dtb in /boot/kernel.d/linux-3.14.79-c2-00001-g2f55842-dirty

I'll try the mainline kernel (still unstable at this time) next.

Cheers
Uli
