[Arm-dev] Kernel freezes

Could as likely be a problem with the SD card.

With Cubies, if I only have uboot on the mSD card (no partitions), the 
uboot auto switches to the sata drive to load everything.  Hans never 
got moving the uboot to NAND, but with this setup, I have more reliable 
HD than mSD card for booting.

I have been running solid on 4.9 since it was available.
