I am now connected via vnc. I am using the following for my ~/.vnc/xstartup #!/bin/sh unset SESSION_MANAGER unset DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS # exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc exec /bin/sh /etc/xdg/xfce4/xinitrc xrdb $HOME/.Xresources startxfce4 & No avahi-daemon Oct 23 11:39:29 ct-c7 yum[1950]: Installed: avahi-libs-0.6.31-19.el7.armv7hl Oct 23 11:40:09 ct-c7 yum[1950]: Installed: avahi-glib-0.6.31-19.el7.armv7hl Oct 23 11:51:35 ct-c7 journal: Failed to connect to avahi service: Daemon not running Oct 23 11:51:51 ct-c7 journal: Failed to connect to avahi service: Daemon not running But is it really needed on a server? No cups installed. That would be a separate step, I assume. No auto media mount. I insert a usb drive. I see it in /dev as sdb, but it is not showing on the desktop to mount. Seems I had this when I first installed gnome DE and then installed Xfce DE, and selected Xfce DE. Only ~/Desktop directory created. None of the other directories you tend to see for a user account. I am going to put this drive to the side and work on other stuff for now. Unless someone recommends testing some addition. Meanwhile the install of the Xfce group needs to install Base and "X Windows System" it would seem. thanks
