In fact he provided the patch and specifically mentioned that most people would be using the original client with Spacewalk and not the newer Spacewalk tools from a secondary repository. You can find all this in the thread above. It seems the people that would install the (newer) spacewalk client anyway are the first to object the inclusion of the original RHEL RHN code, and they are the least affected by this change.
