The issue isnt about the updateinfo.xml as such - most of the
interesting metadata around that is available, and we've been processing
it since back in 2008 or so, the larger problem is how the centos repos
are setup and the user work flows around what comes from the
updateinfo.xml being present.

Lets have a wider conversation around that, and also how the mirror
network needs to move around before we can consume that easily - maybe
lets start by defining the user stories - if its just for consuming some
metadata into spacewalk or something, an api service would be trivial to
setup at the centos.org end.
