Actually only half of it will fail.  If you have EPEL8 installed
  dnf group install kde-desktop
will succeed.
But I will be the first to admit that it's not bug free.
While it hasn't crashed on me, there are a few bugs I know about, and
see, that are fixed in the updated, stable release.
