there is no "official" yum groupinstall xfce in centos. You were 
probably using the packages from EPEL which is a different project with 
a different team than CentOS.

Please file a bug at bugzilla.redhat.com as there is no guarantee 
whatsoever that the package maintainers from  EPEL are subscribed here.
