It's not about making it less compatible, it is about accidentally
overwriting packages from the base repositories.

I think the first "following" can safely be dropped :)

> yum -y install libdvdcss libdvdread libdvdplay livdvdnav lsdvd

Please *no* "yum -y" here. And you might want to explain what those
binaries do.
