Folks:

Just had the shortest de-duplication meeting in GSoC history, we got
all the students we decided we wanted. (List below.)

I'm *very* impressed with our efforts to date -- getting 7 slots for a
first time is pretty rare, we were able to get together some really
great proposals and students, and the projects will have important
impact for the CentOS community.

We have to load up some accept/reject letters in our profile so Google
can do the needful on Monday. I'll send out drafts here, but be aware
that I'm leaving town (going off the grid) Sunday morning all day for
a weeklong trip where I will mostly be unreachable. If you see any
changes that need to be done to those before Monday and I don't ACK
that I've made the changes, you'll need to get Jeff Sheltren or KB
Singh to do the change. (I don't think mentors can change profile
details.)

Starting on Monday is the "getting to know the community" period. We
want to welcome and congratulate our students in the appropriate
locations (centos-virt, centos-devel, centos-docs, etc.), introduce
them to everyone as working on a project, and give the rest of the
community an idea of what the project will entail.

Each student has a slightly different class schedule, we'll want to
get those all organized together. A single spreadsheet with different
dates would help -- the GSoC program has it's own beginning-middle-end
that may be slightly different. For example, one of my students has to
start a few weeks before the usual start time and finish a few weeks
before the usual finish due to school schedule; I'll work with both
students to create a shared schedule that enables their work.

Regards,
