Can somebody check if his email addresses is actually on the list? Maybe somebody else was subscribed with an email address X on the list a while back, then that email address got forwarded to his email address for some reason. Now if he tries to actually unsubscribe with HIS email address, the system says that a confirmation mail was sent, but actually it won't send anything because his email address is not on the list. And he doesn't know what the original email address is, because it doesn't appear anywhere. Maybe in a header somewhere?
