Well, that can just mean all machines actually using your mirrors are
up2date, but still 'hit' the mirror on each yum operation (or just when
cache expired) , so if one of those machine needs to setup package from
another repository, they would still verify the centos repository , and
so fetching/comparing checksums declared in that repomd.xml file (to
validate that local metadata is still correct, or needs to be downloaded
again)
