My concern was the HTTP requests per second rate, not bytes per second rate. The way to test this is to run something like this: for i in {1..50}; do curl http://mirror.sesp.northwestern.edu/centos/TIME; done Oddly this seems to work fine from one U.S. host I have access to, but doing that from .fi, .fr or .uk hosts seems to fail every now and then.
