No one forces you to use them :) Maybe when it's fixed upstream, everyone will be happy. The 100MHz version for CentOS-5 (kernel-vm-2.6.18-92.1.6.el5) and CentOS-4 (kernel-vm-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL) have just been uploaded. The vmware guests are currently updating and will be uploaded with the next days. I won't have any time in the next 2 weeks to tackle the oneline patch suggested here https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=427588.
