[CentOS-virt] help getting open-vm-tools installed

Booting the non-xen kernel did the trick- well at least regular vmware 
tools works fine now.
But at a later date I would like to learn about the VM abilities of xen 
and right now I know almost zero.
Any good faqs for someone just getting started?
