I've had issues like this with the Xen pre 5.2, with the latest updates in ( the dom0 kernel in my setup is still kernel-2.6.18-92.1.1.el5, the domU's are completely updated ), this seems to have gone away. Also working for me now is proper routed network, that never really worked earlier.
