The generated template left in /root/anaconda-ks.cfg is mangled fiction. It's what Anaconda deduced the actual ks.cfg contained, and throws out a tremendous amount of useful information, especially but not only the actual '%post' and '%pre' scripting executed. It's one of Anaconda's great flaws. By default, add this or something like it to your kickstart files to save your actual ks.cfg file. %post --nochroot cp /tmp/ks.cfg /mnt/sysimage/root/ks.cfg
