Be aware that the SPEC file in the tarball includes the ldap, mysql and 
pgsql support modules (so you have to have *-devel installed, etc). I 
extract the SPEC, delete the unwanted modules, then compile. It's always 
worked cleanly on RedHat, haven't tried CentOS yet.
