[CentOS] Why shouldn't I expect more of CentOS/Linux?

I added the Freshrpms repository to my yum.conf file. Actually, when I
went looking for that repository before, I thought I read on the Dag
site that Dag and freshrpms were merged.
Anyway, I added it, and ran the program. At first it said that it
"conflicted" with transcode, so I removed transcode and tried the yum
install again.

And here's what happened:

[root at localhost ~]# yum install perl-Video-DVDRip

Umm... I thought I just removed transcode. Or does this mean that
DVD-rip conflicts with the transcode on the server?
