Were did you get your packages from (what version?):

On my mirror in /centos/4.2/os/SRPMS:
181772014 Sep 1 01:04 openoffice.org-1.1.2-28.6.0.EL4.src.rpm
and in /centos/4.2/os/i386/CentOS/RPMS:
122007463 Aug 23 12:10 openoffice.org-i18n-1.1.2-28.6.0.EL4.i386.rpm
  35739789 Aug 23 12:10 openoffice.org-1.1.2-28.6.0.EL4.i386.rpm
  40267738 Aug 23 12:11 openoffice.org-libs-1.1.2-28.6.0.EL4.i386.rpm
    105134 Aug 23 12:10 openoffice.org-kde-1.1.2-28.6.0.EL4.i386.rpm
total 195MB or thereabouts
