There were a lot of other good suggestions made about how to configure the server, but adding memory is almost a requirement regardless of what else you do. If you don't, the performance is going to be rather bad. With 512mb-1gb of RAM, the system above should be just fine for your intended purpose (although it could benefit from more disk space too).
