The video card should detect and pass along the correct scan ranges. If they are explicitly defined, X will assume you know what you are doing. It's very likely your old monitor supports higher scan ranges than the new LCD. Otherwise, pull out your manual for your LG monitor and put in the correct scan ranges in the Monitor section. -- Bryan J.
