I personally buy Asus and/or Tyan boards all the time.  I am still
running several Dual Pentium III Tyan and Asus servers that I bought 4-7
years ago.  (And even one Quad Pentium Pro board)

They are still DNS, mail, and http servering just fine.

Are there (and were there at the time) better boards out there ...
certainly.  But, they performed just fine for me for a very long
time ... though most now have moved into secondary rolls as e-mail
gateways, firewall boxes, low volume web servers or DNS servers.
