How about using the yum groupinstall/grouplist stuff? If you use 'yum
grouplist' you'll see a couple of groups that might be of interest:
KDE (K Desktop Environment)
KDE Software Development
I am presuming you would want the first of the two, so you would use
something like:

yum groupinstall "KDE (K Desktop Environment)"

On my system it picked up 11 different packages to install:

Package Arch Version Repository Size
autorun i386 3.14-2 base 89 k
htdig i386 3:3.2.0b6-3.40.1 base 942 k

kdeartwork i386 3.3.1-2 base 7.0 M
kdebase i386 6:3.3.1-5.8 base 24 M

Installing for dependencies:
xorg-x11-xdm i386 6.8.2-1.EL.13.20 base 340 k

Transaction Summary
