You might not be able to rmmod HBA driver with mounted volume.

Yes, that's what I mentioned.  I also said there is a workaround.  Basically,
you would do vgcfgbackup, then very carefully manually edit the resulting file
(if you screw it, your data is gone bye bye to lala land), and than do
vgcfgrestore. See this article from Linux LVM mailing list:
