for the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 family of products,

  - Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 4 for x86, AMD64/EM64T, Itanium
  - Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 4 for x86, AMD64/EM64T, Itanium
  - Red Hat Desktop 4 for x86 and AMD64/EM64T

This update includes the following enhancements:

  - Availability of a full set of updated installable CD ISO
     with OS package updates and install-time support for
     new hardware.

  - Availability of updated Extras ISO images with third
     party package updates.

  - Hardware support enhancements:
         * Improved support for Intel and AMD dual-core processors
         * Driver updates including 3c59x, cciss, cio, crypto,
            CTC-MPC, dasd, e100, e1000, ipw2100, ixgb, libata,
            lpfc, megaraid_mbox, megaraid_mm, mptbase, qeth,
            qla2100, qla2200, qla2300, qla2322, qla2xxx, qla6312,
            sata_ahci, sata_qstor, sata_sil, sata_svw, sata_via,
            tg3, and zfcp

  - Security enhancements:
         * New CAPP-style system auditing capabilities
         * Improved exec-shield security capability
         * New kernel key ring facility and supporting tools

  - System tools enhancements:
         * Technology preview of SystemTap, a new dynamic
	   system instrumentation tool
         * Kernel crash dump analysis tool enhancements
         * Local kernel crash dump enhancements including partial
            dump support and swap partition targets
         * New OpenPegasus WBEM/CIM management tools package
            for standards-based system monitoring and control
         * New SCTP run-time library & command-line tools
         * New user-level libraries for IPMI support and updated
            OpenIPMI driver support

  - Storage enhancements:
         * New iSCSI software initiator support and supporting tools
         * New device-mapper based multipath I/O support
         * Improved Logical Volume Management administration tool
            including extended partitioning capabilities,
            volume shapshot and volume resizing and edit support

  - Improved Russian language support

  - Updated third-party Java packages on the Extras CD

  - Security updates, bug fixes, and feature enhancements to
     numerous system packages
