[CentOS] Sata DVD

List,

    Are Sata DVD drives/recorders supported in CentOS, and if so, what 
needs to be done to read/write to them.  On my initial install, the 
machine would boot from the drive, but I wound up having to use a 
regular ide cd-rom drive to do the install.  The drive in question is a 
Plextor 716.  Sure a waste of a good drive if I can't get to it.
