In fact i still consider that a forum can be a source of useful informations : for example people are sometimes afraid of subscribing to mailing-list due to the mass of mails they think they'll receive and irc is not always the solution because you have to find the correct people to answer your specific question when they are connected ... On the forum it's easier because you just ask your question and you hope that someone can read/answer it in the several days without being connected 24/7 on irc (or even worse, as already seen on #centos, the same question being asked by the same people each day ....)
