[CentOS] Updates on Centos 4 - Paranoia

If you are a control freak (like the Debian devs), then have a
similar server like your  database server and THEN FIRST apply any
updates to that one. Then you have the chance to see if anything
breaks. However doesn't your database/other apps need upgrades/bug
fixes? Some bugs could lead in extreme cases to data corruption.

It sounds as if you are unusually paranoid, what database is that you
are running that does not need updates even from the vendor?
