Did someone possibly change the status of selinux on that server ...
(i.e. turned on SELinux ... or changed the policies if it was already
on).
You can look in /etc/sysconfig/selinux to see.
Either that or a change in directory permissions (or .htaccess / passwd)
is where I would start.
