Have you heard references of reading the documentation?
'man yum' provides all sorts of interesting ways to get information
about groups.

Yes, but it varies repository to repository and how they were set up.
Some use groups, some do not. Consult the documentation (man yum) for
information. Specifically, you may want to reference the section about
'grouplist'.
