[CentOS] Two ethernet adapters and more

Well I started in on this and look at the two files before any changes:

cat ifcfg-eth0

DEVICE=eth0
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=static
IPADDR=65.84.78.218

cat ifcfg-eth1

DEVICE=eth1
HWADDR=00:50:8B:DA:BB:61
ONBOOT=no
TYPE=Ethernet

Why does eth1 have HWADDR and TYPE whereas eth0 does not?

Seems I should understand this before making changes!

Here is the output of that lapci command.  You will see that the 
first ethernet and last Tiger Jet are both on IRQ5.

Is this controlled/controllable via some config file?
