I ask that, because you have the rpm version of CentOS 4.3 in there, but
seem to have a python version from CentOS 4.0 - the build date is quite
old, a python matching your version of RPM looks should have a build
date in 2006.

2.3.4-14.1 was in stock 4.3, there was an update to 2.3.4-14.2 later on.
