[CentOS] providing drivers at boot time for SATA

I have a similar problem with a Centos 4.3 install on a pair of raided 
SATA disks.

The motherboard failed (ati chipset) so I replaced it with a VIA 8251 
based board and it fails to find any hard disks after the grub boot 
screen...
