I was giving an alternative to 3ware. > Just an update. Areca is not quite there yet with 3ware with regard to driver quality according to what I read from posts to LKML. That is in the eyes of the kernel maintainers and developers but it is very near to inclusion into the mainline kernel after having been in the -mm kernel for over a year.
