JFYI: I got the following on the reiser mailing list. The OP was also 
told to upgrade his reiserfs progs to the latest versions.

The bug is fixed in 2.6.18 which I built. But not
(2.6.9-42.0.2.plus.c4) which is the latest standard centos/redhat
kernel that support reiserfs.
