I updated more that 100 machines and only had 3 issues with DNS because for some reason the rndc.key and rndc.conf files were moved to be an rpmnew file :( ... that happened with upstream product upgrades too. One thing to keep in perspective when looking at the issues on the mailing list is this ... there are more than a million CentOS machines in the Wild ...
