After a bit more Googling, it seems the problem might be that the onboard sound card is ISA. Is there an easy way to get isapnp kernel module for CentOS 3.8, other than recompiling the kernel (don't have compilers and stuff on the machine, the compilation would probably take about forever on that old laptop, and I doubt there's enough disk space to do it)? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (MingW32) iD8DBQFFNv4sSuSa4NZgqj8RAmX+AJ9QwZDH/JRaK59NGvlEH5N5DGm8EgCdFTj4 7p3AisNc4SYIEOeOHpwpyT4= =0xxn -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
