I installed kernel-module-xfs-2.6.9-42.0.2.EL-0.1-3.i686.rpm from the site
you mentioned . But it is still unable to mount xfs filesystem at boot
time.It gives following error.

mount: fs type xfs not supported by kernel

after booting up in 2.6.9-42.0.2.plus.c4 if i issue command "modprobe xfs"
it gives an error about module not found. But following files are present on
system.

/lib/modules/2.6.9-42.0.2.EL/extra/xfs.ko
/lib/modules/2.6.9-42.0.2.EL/extra/xfs_quota.ko

I am using centos 4.4.
