According to this page: http://www.oiepoie.nl/linux_on_d620/ 1440x900 works on Fedora 5. I've added "915resolution 5c 1440 900" to /etc/rc.local and added "1440x900" to SubSection "Display" in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
