[CentOS] FreeNX authenticates but no desktop on centos 5 ??

sorry, I should have posted this in my original post (but didn't know where
to find it). the error message in the client when the connection attempt
times out says:

ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host

there are some minor difference in the startsession call between the centos
4.4 (when looking at ~/.nx/temp/sshlog) and centos 5 (the above error log),
but these seem really minor (--kbtype and --link).  a mystery. maybe I'm
just destined to be a vnc user :-).
