On my (older) Gigabyte board with a Realtek 8169 chip I see this in
"lspci -v":

01:0b.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8169 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 10)
        Subsystem: Giga-byte Technology GA-8I915ME-G Mainboard
Flags: bus master, 66MHz, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 209
        I/O ports at 9400 [size=256]
        Memory at e7000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256]
[virtual] Expansion ROM at 50020000 [disabled] [size=64K]
Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 2

and "lspci -vv" shows this:

01:0b.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8169 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 10)
        Subsystem: Giga-byte Technology GA-8I915ME-G Mainboard
        Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV+ VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B-
        Status: Cap+ 66MHz+ UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR-
Latency: 32 (8000ns min, 16000ns max), Cache Line Size: 64 bytes
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 209
        Region 0: I/O ports at 9400 [size=256]
        Region 1: Memory at e7000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256]
[virtual] Expansion ROM at 50020000 [disabled] [size=64K]
Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 2
                Flags: PMEClk- DSI- D1+ D2+ AuxCurrent=375mA PME(D0-,D1+,D2+,D3hot+,D3cold+)
                Status: D0 PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=0 PME-

I note that mine does NOT list it (as yours does) as "RTL-8110SC/8169SC",
but rather as "RTL-8169", so it may not be the identical chip.

I don't have any gigabit networking in the house, but it works fine (and
always has) at 10 or 100 (I've done both, currently 100).

BTW, I'm using Centos 5 fully updated.
